Which USDT network to use

Network choice decides most of what you pay in fees, and getting it wrong is the one mistake that loses funds outright. Match the network shown on the invoice exactly.

The case for paying with USDT

• Value is pegged to the dollar, so the amount you send is the amount that arrives in purchasing-power terms — no price movement while it confirms.
• Deepest P2P liquidity of any crypto in Nigeria, Pakistan, Egypt, Argentina and Turkey — you can buy it with local currency almost anywhere.
• TRC-20 fees are low enough to be irrelevant even on a single-month purchase.

The case against

• Tether is a centralised issuer with the freeze capability that implies; funds at an address can be frozen by the issuer in response to law enforcement.

• Some exchanges charge a flat withdrawal fee well above the actual network cost. Check before withdrawing.

Where to get USDT

Should you use USDT or USDC?

Both are dollar-pegged and both work identically for this purchase. USDT has deeper liquidity in the regions where card declines are common, which is the practical argument for it — if you are buying with Nigerian naira or Pakistani rupees on a P2P market, USDT is what the market makers are quoting.
